In 2013 U.S. Bank National Association (U.S. Bank) was uncovered by Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) as the latest institution to step in and provide a loan and rescue HLS from collapse. U.S. Bank is now the lab’s largest debt provider.

Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) is the largest contract testing laboratory in Europe. They have about 70,000 animals on site. These animals are destined to suffer and die in cruel, heinous experiments and are continually tortured before their lives are cut short. HLS carries out atrocious experiments which involve poisoning animals with household products, pesticides, drugs/pharmaceuticals, herbicides, food colorings and additives, sweeteners and genetically modified organisms.

500 animals are murdered inside HLS every single day.

Huntingdon and their affiliates have been exposed for fraudulence, neglect, and animal cruelty more than a dozen times. Of the many investigations, HLS has been caught on video punching four month old beagles in the face and cutting open primates while they are still conscious and alive. Yet the authorities sit by and do nothing. We cannot allow these investigations and undercover exposes to go unnoticed. We cannot allow Huntingdon and pharmaceutical companies to profit off the torture and murder of sentient beings.

The animals are counting on our voices, actions, global support and relentlessness to shut down their exploiters!

The global campaign to close Huntingdon has persisted since 1999. Activists worldwide have been successful in pressuring hundreds of goods and service providers, pharmaceutical companies, and financial businesses to drop HLS. In addition, the campaign against Huntingdon has transformed HLS from a public, shareholding company on the New York and London stock exchange into a private company who is currently $110 million dollars in debt with no listing, no insurance company and no bank.

The time is now to hit HLS where it hurts and finalize their closure! For life, for liberation.

Demo Report: US Bank, April 27th, 2013

IMG_0040

On April 27 th, 2013 Los Angeles animal rights activists participated in the global week of action against US Bank during World Week for Animals in laboratories for recently being exposed by SHAC for loaning Huntingdon Life Sciences, a contracted animal testing laboratory, a 120 million dollar loan.

The demonstration got kicked off at noon when around 15 activists armed with megaphones and placards with graphic images of the animals murdered inside of HLS surrounded the US Bank Tower in downtown LA. Activists used their megaphones to inform the public inside and outside of the building about the horrors that go on inside of HLS. Activists spoke about the beagles that have been punched in the face, the countless primates that have been tortured to no end, the rats that have been forced to inhale vaporized unleaded gasoline, and the millions of dollars that have been wasted on fraudulent science that has lead to nothing more than innocent lives lost and prolonging real cures from being discovered.

Throughout the demonstration pedestrians were approaching activists and they were appalled that US Bank would involve themselves with such a evil company as HLS. One family discussed the possibility of terminating all of their US Bank accounts. Over the course of a hour and a half 400 leaflets were passed out informing the public about US Banks dealings with Huntingdon.

Towards the end of the protest US Bank’s security guards decided to batter several of the women at the protest, which resulted in a uproar by the activists. Surrounding the security guards with megaphones and placards. The security guards intended to intimidate the activists but their assaults only fueled the fire escalating the demonstration.

This protest is the beginning of a US campaign against US Bank Corp. Through coordinated actions, consistency, and understanding we will ensure that US Bank cuts their ties with HLS and that Huntingdon will go out of business once and for all.

Until all are free,

Shut Down HLS LA

Protest Against US Bank, Friday, April 26th

cropped-cropped-usbankkillsGet ready for a protest against US Bank during World Week for Animals! They were recently exposed for loaning Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS), one of the largest animal testing facilities in the world, 120 million dollars. This is a vital loan that is keeping them in business and ensuring that 500 innocent animals are murdered every day. HLS has been struggling to stay afloat for over a decade, they are operating with over 100 million dollars in debt and were kicked off the New York and London stock exchange because of the global movement to close them down. With HLS recently shedding 6% of their workforce in order to stay afloat, laying off leading scientists and managers, HLS cannot afford to lose a 120 million dollar loan, the largest loan HLS has ever received. Without the support of US Bank it very well may be the end of Huntingdon Life Sciences.

Join Shut Down HLS Los Angeles during World Week for Animals in Laboratories, on April 26th for a protest outside of the US Bank tower in Los Angeles. Some signs and literature will be provided. Feel free to bring your own as well. There will be demonstrations across the United States against US Bank during World Week For animals in labs as a continental US campaign is launched.

WHEN: Friday, April 26th, 2013
